Every horse is different, and so is every service Rafter MC provides. Here is a full look at what I offer.

Custom Shoeing

No two horses are built the same, and no two horses should be shod the same. I offer both hot and cold shoeing, fitting each shoe to the individual hoof rather than the other way around. Every set I put on is built around your horse's conformation, discipline, and workload.

Forge Work

Not every horse can be fitted off the shelf. When a standard shoe will not do the job, I fabricate custom shoes and hardware at the forge, shaped, adjusted, and finished to meet the exact specifications the horse requires. From draft horses needing oversized stock, to specialty plates for performance disciplines, forge work allows me to build what the horse needs rather than compromise on what is available.

Expert Trimming

A proper trim is the starting point for every sound horse. I evaluate each hoof individually, assessing balance, breakover, and overall hoof health before making a single cut. Whether your horse is barefoot or between shoe sets, regular trimming maintains the structural integrity of the hoof and prevents the small imbalances that compound into bigger problems over time.

Corrective Shoeing

Conformation is not always perfect, and neither is every horse's movement, but the right shoeing approach can go a long way toward addressing both. Corrective shoeing uses strategic shoe placement, modifications, and specialized hardware to influence how a horse loads and breaks over, helping to improve gait, reduce uneven wear, and minimize the long-term stress that poor movement places on joints and soft tissue. I work closely with veterinarians and trainers when corrective work is part of a broader soundness or performance plan.
